Another form of biofuels is derived from seaweed; the abundant green sea plants that blanket parts of the ocean. Unlike other forms of biofuels, seaweed is not a food crop and won't raise economical issues over poverty and world hunger. In fact, it does the opposite.

Too much seaweed in the ocean causes imbalances in the sea ecosystem, but it has been proven that seaweed farming actually cleans up the pollution produced from fish farms, and turns sunlight into chemical energy 5x more efficiently than land plants [7].

If seaweed, which is already so abundant on our planet, is used, people will not have to pay such ridiculously high prices for fuel. Implementing the use of seaweed in biofuels will provide economic security over gas prices for the public.

“It can be converted into gasoline, diesel, and jet fuel and can be used directly in current engines. You don't need any special modifications to run an algae biofuel
